Dihydroberberine is a reduced form of berberine (Berberine) with higher bioavailability and stability. Berberine is an isoquinoline alkaloid commonly found in a variety of medicinal plants, such as Phellodendron Bark and Phellodendron Bark.
Biological function
Hypoglycaemic: Dihydroberberine improves insulin sensitivity and lowers blood glucose level by activating AMPK pathway.
Hypolipidemic: It can reduce cholesterol and triglyceride levels and improve lipid metabolism.
Anti-inflammatory: It has anti-inflammatory effect, can inhibit the release of inflammatory factors and reduce the inflammatory response.
Antioxidant: By scavenging free radicals, it reduces the damage to cells caused by oxidative stress.
Antibacterial: It has an inhibitory effect on a variety of bacteria and fungi.
Areas of application
Scientific research: for research in the fields of metabolism, inflammation and microbiology.
Pharmaceuticals: as a potential ingredient in hypoglycaemic, hypolipidemic and anti-inflammatory drugs.
Nutraceuticals: Used in metabolic health and anti-inflammatory products such as dietary supplements.
