Product Description

Nobiletin powder is a polymethoxyflavone found in some citrus fruits that has a variety of pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour and neuroprotective properties. A team of researchers led by the University of Ottawa Heart Institute in Canada found through mouse experiments that Nobiletin extract can counteract the adverse effects caused by a high-fat diet, thereby improving metabolic dysregulation and preventing postprandial hyperlipidaemia. Previous epidemiological studies have shown that higher flavonoid intake is associated with lower cardiovascular risk. Therefore, Nobiletin should also have a disease risk reducing effect.

Nobiletin powder, NOB, is a retinoid acid recepxor-related orphan recepxor, ROR, activator, and the team pre-identified Sichuan chenpianin, which improves the body's circadian rhythm oscillation and maintains metabolic homeostasis. However, it is unclear whether maintaining circadian rhythm stability is beneficial in delaying organismal aging. This study explored the role of NOB in the regulation of bioenergetics and metabolic changes in mouse skeletal muscle, and found that the NOB-ROR axis improves the activity and function of the mitochondrial respiratory complex, thereby delaying skeletal muscle aging. This finding provides a pharmacological strategy to delay aging by modulating the bioenergetics and metabolic levels.

 

Effects of NOB on Organismal Aging and Circadian Rhythms.

After 20 weeks of NOB intervention in aged mice on a normal diet, the researchers found that NOB prolonged the average lifespan of the mice and was able to prolong their average sleep time.

This study identifies a novel small molecule drug that can delay aging, as well as reveals a novel molecular mechanism by which biological rhythms are involved in the regulation of aging, providing a new perspective for delaying human aging.
